Bette & Cring Honored with “Build NY” Award

Since 1990, the General Build Contractors and now the Associated General Contractors of New York State (AGC NYS) have recognized projects that exemplify construction excellence and highlight the best in the state.

 

On April 16th, Bette & Cring was honored with a “2014 Jeffrey J. Zogg Build New York Award” for the construction of the Albany Medical Center Cogeneration Plant and presented with a plaque. This honor is shared with the entire construction team from the owner to the architects and engineers, and the many subcontractors, suppliers, and the individual men and women who made this project happen.

 

Our project team includes Cogen Power Technologies, CHA Consulting, FPI Mechanical; Rentech: Schenectady Hardware & Electric; Solar Turbines; Stonebridge Iron & Steel; and many others.

 

The Associated General Contractors of New York State produced a video summary of our award-winning project.

2014 ENR New York Rankings

ENR New York, a supplement to Engineering News-Record, has released their annual top contractors list of rankings for 2014. This list includes the top contractors of the tri-state area (Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York).

 

Overall, Bette & Cring secured the 29th ranking for the top New York State contractors and 43rd overall.

 

Bette & Cring also ranked on several of the lists by sector including the following:

  • Power – 5th
  • Design-Builder– 10th
  • Educational – 14th
  • Transportation – 15th
  • General Contractors – 23rd
  • Renovation Contractors – 23rd

 

Bette & Cring is proud to earn these new rankings for 2014 and would like to congratulate our staff and all team members involved in making this happen.

NECHPI honors Albany Medical Center CHP Project

On May 13th, NECHPI (Northeast Clean Heat and Power Initiative) convened their annual meeting in Albany, NY. NECHPI, who members represent NYSERDA, MA DOER, NY Energy Bank, and other leaders in the energy segment, is an organization that “strives to promote policies and practices conducive to the deployment of clean heat and power in applications where high over-all efficiency and associated economic and environmental benefits can be achieved”.

 

The Albany Medical Center Cogeneration Plant, which boasts over 75% efficiency in its first year of operations, was recognized as the “Outstanding CHP Project” of the year and honored as an exemplary cogeneration project. Bette & Cring was the Design-Build general contractor for this plant which began operations in 2013. Members of Albany Medical Center, Cogen Power Technologies, and CHA, were also on hand to accept the award.

New Honors! - BD&C “Giants 300”

Building Design + Construction Magazine has recently released its annual Giants 300 Report which is an annual ranking of the Top 300 AEC firms in the US and Canada.

 

Bette & Cring, a Bette Company, secured the 69th place ranking for Top Contractors of 2013.

 

Bette & Cring also placed on several of the building categories including:

  • Top Multifamily Construction Firm – 18th
  • Top K-12 School Sector Construction Firm – 30th
  • Top Cultural Facility Construction Firm – 35th
