On May 13th, NECHPI (Northeast Clean Heat and Power Initiative) convened their annual meeting in Albany, NY. NECHPI, who members represent NYSERDA, MA DOER, NY Energy Bank, and other leaders in the energy segment, is an organization that “strives to promote policies and practices conducive to the deployment of clean heat and power in applications where high over-all efficiency and associated economic and environmental benefits can be achieved”.

The Albany Medical Center Cogeneration Plant, which boasts over 75% efficiency in its first year of operations, was recognized as the “Outstanding CHP Project” of the year and honored as an exemplary cogeneration project. Bette & Cring was the Design-Build general contractor for this plant which began operations in 2013. Members of Albany Medical Center, Cogen Power Technologies, and CHA, were also on hand to accept the award.

Congratulations to all of the recipients.
